Your training is split into five phases:

  • Introduction to the Program: Brief welcome and overview of the Data Preparation Polymer Certificate Program.
  • Program Objectives: High-level discussion on what students will learn throughout the program, including key skills and knowledge areas.
  • Data Preparation Workflow Efficiency: Guidelines for reducing material usage through smart parts orientation and nesting, contributing to cost savings and environmental sustainability.
  • Software Activation and Installation: Learn the essentials of activating Materialise Magics, including software installation, obtaining license key, and navigating the license wizard.
  • User Interface: Explore the user interface of Materialise Magics, mastering functionalities such as customizing your library, utilizing the context menu, leveraging quick search, understanding view functionalities, and using marking tools for enhanced efficiency.
  • Build Preparation: Acquire critical skills for preparing your builds in Materialise Magics, including importing parts, applying basic orientation and nesting techniques to ensure part quality and process efficiency.
  • CAM Software Selection: Learn the CAM software that works based on your machine. PSW for Machines: P 396, P 770 or EOSPRINT 2 for Machines: P 110, P 110 FDR, P 500, P 500 FDR. You can also choose both if you have both types of machines.
  • Interface Overview: Navigate the CAM Software user interface with ease, learning to efficiently access and utilize its comprehensive features for an optimized workflow.
  • Basic Functionality: Master the core functionalities including file management, setting adjustments, and software navigation to enhance your operational efficiency.
  • Build Preparation: Develop the expertise to prepare build jobs from importing and manipulating data files to finalizing the build setup for execution.
  • Case Study: Learn through practical case studies that demonstrate how to apply the software in real-world scenarios, solving common challenges in Polymer additive manufacturing.
  • Case Study: Step into the shoes of an EOS applications engineer to optimize a part. Take what you’ve learned to create a small DOE that will achieve the parts’ requirements. What decisions will you make to get closer to the goal?
  • Expert Session: Review your final assessment face to face with an applications engineer. Discuss your findings and receive feedback. 
  • Conclusion: Conclude your process training with a comprehensive overview, solidifying your understanding of the Exposure editor capabilities and preparing you to apply your new skills to achieve remarkable results in your additive manufacturing projects.


The comprehensive focus of this course on a single intricate issue and the thorough involvement of EOS experts in its webinars and Q&A sessions make it stand head and shoulders above similar certification programs. Its dependence on the learner's interaction — i.e., "learning by doing" in the practice task modules — will also have a positive long-term impact on their data preparation skills.

No, all required software training licenses are provided. You’ll have 6 months of access to EOSPRINT 2, PSW, and 60 days of access to Materialise Magics upon obtaining the license. Please note that the Magics training license won’t be reactivated upon expiration.

This course is designed for prospective Polymer machine operators and data preparation personnel preparing builds for manufacturing on EOS Polymer-based machines (e.g., P 110, P 110 FDR, P 396, P 500, P 500 FDR and P 770).

We recommend that learners who take this course have a strong technical background and (at least) moderate experience in additive manufacturing. Familiarity with AM-specific software and computer-aided design (CAD) programs is also ideal, though not specifically required.

This certificate program spans a 2-4 week duration. Upon finishing the online learning modules and final assessment, participants gain the opportunity to engage in an Expert session facilitated monthly by the Additive Minds Academy. In the event of missing the current session, participants have the option to join the subsequent one. Every certificate program encompasses a complementary Expert session, and learners enjoy 12 months of access to the online content learning platform.

You will be able to download your certification via the program portal after you successfully finish all modules and exams.
